Power transmission for 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is a line of 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that produces 148 horsepower and 145 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard transmission is offered in the ES is a five-speed manual. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is optional and is standard on SE models. De olho no segmento B, a Mitsubishi lançou, no Salão de Genebra, o carro-conceito GSC (Global Small Concept), que nada mais é do que a o modelo que dará origem ao sucessor do Colt. O compacto, que será produzido na Tailândia, será equipado com motor de três cilindros, à gasolina, e sua produção terá início apenas no ano que vem.

A princípio, o veículo, que apresenta design moderno e alinhado à proposta da marca, será disponibilizado nas versões com 1 litro e 1,2 litros, com transmissão manual ou automática do tipo CVT. Além disso, terá também a tecnologia start-stop e freios regenerativos.

Com o lançamento do GSC, a Mitsubishi abre suas portas para o mercado dos carros híbridos, próximo foco da montadora japonesa. Além disso, encerra a fabricação do Colt na Europa, modelo que, segundo a japonesa, não terá sucessor.

Mitsubishi i MiEV Sport Air

Mitsubishi Motors will reveal a new i MiEV Sport Air concept at the 79th Geneva International Motor Show in March. Using the same nomenclature as the Saab 9X 'Air', the new car is an open top variant of the i MiEV Sport design study first unveiled at the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show.

Like its hardtop counterpart, the two-door concept has a bold, wheels-at-each-corner stance and accentuated fenders, while chiseled body lines guide airflow to cool the rear-mounted electric motor. Above the cabin, a 'clear cutaway' roof (with integrated solar panels) is said to enable the driver to 'enjoy the exhilaration of fresh-air motoring while also highlighting its eco-friendly qualities', according to the Japanese automaker.

Claimed to emphasize exhilarating driving pleasure by providing a balance between environmental and dynamic performance, the car has a lithium-ion battery pack mounted in the floor for a lower center of gravity. It measures 3450mm long and has a 2550mm-long wheelbase.

Mitsubishi Concept-RA

The design sketches previewing concepts set to be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in January keep coming, as Mitsubishi reveals the Concept-RA it will premier in the Motor City.

Claimed to fuse the passion for dynamic, exciting driving with a heightened sensitivity for the environment, the rakish concept harks back to the sporting lines of the 3000GT and the Eclipse production cars, while being noticeably influenced by Audi's TT in both the C-pillar and rear end treatment. The body structure has been constructed using an aluminum space frame made from extruded aluminum sections and die-cast aluminum members for improved crashworthiness and reduced weight. The hood, fenders and outer panels are also made from high impact-resistance and easily recyclable plastic resin, boosting its environmental credentials.

Powered by a new 2.2-liter high-output turbodiesel engine, the Concept-RA is meant to demonstrate that thrilling performance and environmental responsibility need not be mutually exclusive concepts. In keeping with the performance theme, the coupe concept features Mitsubishi's Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) vehicle dynamics control system which adds Active Steering and Active Damping control along with the Twin Clutch SST automated manual transmission found in the current iteration of the Lancer Evolution.

Mitsubishi i MiEV Sport

Mitsubishi's green i MiEV city car has spawned a Sport derivative, scheduled to be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in October. The concept, which features a "fastback" exterior design and aerodynamically fluid styling, is meant to enhance the "driving" image of Mitsubishi's electric vehicles.

The body of the i MiEV Sport is constructed of lightweight aluminum and painted light green to show off its environmentally-friendly credentials, while the window glass is designed to absorb heat. The interior is a simplified space that uses geometry, metallic materials and Mitsubishi's own 'Green Plastic' made from plant-based resin technology. Lighting consists of energy-saving LEDs in the rear combination lamps and multiple blue LEDs inside the cabin.

Measuring 3,450mm overall, the i MiEV Sport has a relatively long wheelbase of 2,550mm and employs a rear midship layout like its production sibling the i Kei car. Unlike the i, however, the i MiEV does not utilize a conventional petrol engine but an electric motor beneath the luggage compartment driving the rear wheels. Mitsubishi's unique in-wheel motors power the front wheels and a high-capacity lithium-ion battery is installed in the lowest area under the floor to improve stability and enhance interior space.

Mitsubishi Galant Fortis

A new Japanese market car that is likely to be subsequently announced in other territories, the Galant Fortis is, according to Mitsubishi: "the first model to adopt the new Mitsubishi Motors sedan design identity in its front visage, distinguishing it immediately as a Mitsubishi sedan. The inverted-slant nose, traditional to Mitsubishi Motors sedans and incorporating a leisurely flowing engine hood line with good pedestrian protection, is combined with a trapezoidal grille to give the front end a dynamic and forcefully progressive appearance."

Previewed by the Concept X from Tokyo 2005 and then the Prototype X in Detroit earlier this year, the exterior design is relatively conservative and is based closely in theme on its predecessor, whilst the interior is more distinctive.

Mitsubishi Concept-cX

Mitsubishi will unveil the Concept-cX 'compact crossover' at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. The new concept aims to illustrate the ideal balance between environmental and everyday practical performance.

The compact crossover concept offers a number of proposals for better utility and road performance. Its high, SUV-like seating position benefits visability, while the compact (4100mm) body facilitates maneuvering around town. There is also a familiar split tailgate to make loading and unloading items easier.

Inside, the Concept-cX is brimming with environmental technologies, featuring extensive use of interior trim materials made from Mitsubishi's own Green Plastic (a combination of bamboo and other plant-based resins).

The Concept-cX employs Mitsubishi's new 1.8-liter clean diesel turbocharged engine, claimed to offer high power and efficiency. A new Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission) feeds power to an electronically controlled 4WD system.

Mitsubishi Evo

After numerous Evo concepts, Mitsubishi has finally released more details on the tenth-iteration of its Lancer Evolution sporting saloon.

Photos released by Mitsubishi show the new Evo clearly differs from the Prototype X. Subtle changes have been made to the grille treatment, front fog lamps and a licence plate mounting bracket have been added, the wing mirrors and side sills are more subdued, and the wing mounted side repeaters all indicate a production-ready model. At the rear, the LED tail lamps of the show car have been revised, incorporating chrome rings around the individual brake lights and an orange indicator lens. The chrome wheels have also been replaced by less attention-grabbing silver alloys and the large red-painted Brembo callipers squeeze solid discs, not cross-drilled rotors as they were on the Prototype X.

Production versions of the Lancer Evolution will make their European debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this autumn and become available to buyers at the end of the year.

Mitsubishi Lancer

The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer will be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. With styling already hinted at by the Concept-X and Concept Sportback of 2005, the illustration released by Mitsubishi remains largely faithful to these showcars. The trim of the Down-Road-Graphic modified only slightly; this now gives the front a six element graphic, and chrome is also used.

Under the hood, engines for the Lancer will range from a 1.5-liter gasoline motor producing 110PS, to the two-liter turbocharged units and a V6. The Mitsubishi Lancer will be on American roads in the Spring, and debut in Japan six months later - after it appears at the Tokyo Motor Show next October.

Mitsubishi Delica D:5

Arriving in Japan early next year is the new Mitsubishi Delica D:5, the fifth generation of a model series that began in 1968, and the third new model the company has launched this year after the eK Wagon and Pajero. Mitsubishi says the Delica was developed to 'fuse the comfort of a minivan with the powerful performance of an SUV' and uses 2.4-liter engine with four-wheel-drive.

The styling of the Delica takes its cues from the Mitsubishi Concept-D:5 unveiled at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show, with strong graphics and perched stance. The most noticeable difference is at the front with a more automotive DRG compared with the show car, though the A-pillar-to-headlamp line and stubbed hood still keep the car related to the Colt and eK respectively. Elsewhere, the wheel-arches are now circular rather than squared, while inside the eight seats mean there's room for two more passengers.

Mitsubishi eK

While Europe hosts the debut of the latest Pajero, in Japan sales have begun of Mitsubishi's latest takes on the K-class city car, the eK Wagon and eK Sport. Main changes over the outgoing model launched in 2001 include a power sliding door, as on the Toyota Porte and Peugeot 1007, and an extensive refit of cubby-holes for passenger paraphernalia.

Driving themes for the design were 'peace-of-mind', 'feel-good' and 'convenience', The Mitsubishi eK is available with either two- or four-wheel drive. Further attention has been paid to ease of customization, the seats configurable to owners' tastes. Unusually broad arches and a stubbed hood help define the exterior, while the interior features a tidy trio of rotary HVAC controls, a central binnacle, and deodorizing headlining.

Mitsubishi Pajero

The new Mitsubishi Pajero will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show this year. From its launch in 1982, over 2.5million units have been sold in 170 countries, making the Pajero the global face of the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. Back then the Pajero was simply classed '4x4', but since that somewhat bucolic term was rejuvenated as SUV, so the Pajero finds itself facing an ever widening array of rivals, the Land Rover LR3 and Volvo XC90 being notable.

The Pajero is now into its fourth series and evolves existing styling themes, the range featuring a new 3.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel and a 3.8l gasoline V8. Built in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, initial shipments will head to Europe later this month, with sales in Japan and Australia beginning in October. Taking a leaf out of Land Rover's book, the Mitsubishi Pajero will be joined in France by its rally-derivative, which will tackle the Paris-Dakar next year.
