2011 Hyundai Avante soon to get launched in India

Some unconfirmed news are coming out stating that Hyundai are planning to launch their globally accepted sedan Elantra in the Indian automobile field as Hyundai Avante. Few Years ago, Hyundai India have launched a sedan Elantra, but it was a major flop. This new Hyundai Avante in India looks rich in style, great in it's performance, comfort, features and full value for money.

This new luxurious sedan, Hyundai Avante is powered by a 1591cc, DOHC, CVVT Petrol engine which will provide a maximum power of about 118 Bhp @ 6200 rpm and a maximum torque of about 156 Nm @ 4200 rpm. This new Hyundai Avante will provide a mileage of about 11 kmpl in the cities and about 14 kmpl in the highways. This new Hyundai Avante is also said to achieve a top-speed of about 185 kms in perfect running conditions.

This new Hyundai Avante, a luxurious sedan belonging to the D segment of the Indian automobile field provides Five-speed Manual Gearbox. This new Hyundai Avante includes McPherson Strut Type, Stabiliser Bar Suspension. It also provides a Disk Brake at the front and a Drum Brake at the rear.

This new Hyundai Avante in India is expected to be launched by this June 2011 and might have a price tag of around Rs 11 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Ford's best seller sedan, Ford Focus coming to India

Ford, world's third leading car manufacturer's are now all set to launch their so far best seller, Ford Focus in the ever growing Indian automobile field. The main thing to be noted with this new Ford Focus in India is that it looks almost similar with the Ford's one of the earlier hit model, Ford Ikon.

This new Ford Focus, a good looking sedan in the D segment will have to compete with the likes of Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis. The Focus might get launched with two engine options, petrol and a diesel. This new Ford Focus in India will features a maximum power of about 140 bhp @ 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of about 136 ft-lbs @ 4250 rpm.

2011 Volvo S60 in India - Specifications, Reviews and Prices

Volvo launched their new sedan, Volvo S60 last week and this new sedan happens to be much sportier and more distinct than any previous Volvo cars in India. Samsung SM5

Samsung Motors, the Korean subsidiary of Renault-Nissan Alliance, recently released the newly-redesigned SM5 sedan for the Korean domestic market. Based on the Nissan Teana, the SM5 is the second best-selling vehicle in Korea's D1 segment, ceding the top spot to Hyundai's Sonata.

The most significant change to the exterior design is visible around the front bumper region, where the strong 'chin' (lower section of bumper volume) displays both solid and aggressive styling cues when viewed from the front. Its lower air intake boundary area is much larger and sharper than the previous design, while the headlamps and grille strongly resembles the new Renault Laguna, subtly confirming the rumor of Renault's hands-on approach for every vehicle lineup in the near future.

Around the rear, the graphical division of the taillamps - extending from the shutlines of the trunk - is clever, but overall the vehicle looks heavy with the bumper sitting too low to the ground.

Fisker plug-in hybrid sport sedan

Fisker Automotive is poised to become the first 'green' American premium car company when it launches its four-door plug-in hybrid sports sedan at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

As the first production vehicle to come from the newly formed company - a joint venture between Quantum Technologies and Fisker Coachbuild - the car will feature an all-new platform and a chassis that enables the battery pack to be placed between the two axles at the center of the vehicle. This positioning provides not only optimal driving dynamics and safety, but proportionate design as well, leading to a sleek design that accentuates the long hood.

Performance figures for the first car have it achieving 50 miles on electric power alone, while a gasoline or diesel engine extends the range to more than 620 miles. It has also been claimed to deliver 100mpg. Initial deliveries of the car will commence in late 2009 with annual production projected to reach 15,000 cars, each with a starting price of $80,000.

BMW M3 Sedan

An athletic, sporting stance separates the new BMW M3 sedan from the rest of the range, bar its two-door coupé sibling. The design of the new four-door M3 powerhouse mimics that of the coupé with one noticeable difference: the sedan has a conventional steel roof rather than a carbon fiber top. The double-kidney grille has grown wider and the flat headlight design is more aggressive than on the 3-Series range, and the M3 boasts three large air intakes below the grille.

The face of the new BMW M3 also includes a power dome in the middle of the aluminum hood which, though longer than that of the 3-Series sedan, blends into the two front side panels adorned with the signature M "gills," which incorporate the M3 logo. A discreet lip spoiler features on the trunklid to optimize the car's aerodynamics and reduces lift, while a split diffuser beneath the rear bumper takes up the shape of the air intakes at the front of the car.

Inside, the five seats are surrounded by powerful contours and flowing lines highlighting the concave and convex surfaces. The horizontal lines dominating the area around the dashboard as well as the harmonious surfaces of the side linings emphasize its dynamics. The cockpit control area tapers out between the front seats into a newly designed center console, which discreetly "swings" towards the driver. The choice of colors inside the M3 Sedan help the driver concentrate on driving and the footwells, parcel shelf, headliner, A-pillar trim and the upper part of the instrument panel are all finished in Anthracite.

Skoda Fabia Estate

Skoda is set to debut the new Fabia Estate at September's Frankfurt Motor Show.

Larger in every aspect than its predecessor, the new wagon is 7mm longer and 46mm higher than the model it replaces. Its enhanced dimensions (4,239mm long, 1,642mm wide and 1,498mm tall) are claimed to allow for a far larger interior and improve its road presence.

The new model demonstrates the new design trends of the VW subsidiary, with an elegant, characterful face and a taut shoulder line running the entire length of the side panels. The front grille and chamfered hood design are reminiscent of larger Audi models, while the rear is simple and focused, with flared wheel arches denoting sporting flair.

Cargo capacity for the new model has also increased to 480 liters, 54 liters more than the outgoing model. With the rear seats folded flat a total of 1,460 liters of space is available (235 liters more than before).

Buyers will have the choice of six engines altogether (three petrol and three diesel) mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The top of the line 1.6 16V version is also available with an optional six-speed Tiptronic automatic. Trim designators will be simply 1, 2 and 3, as with the Fabia hatchback.

Bentley Continental GT Speed

Bentley has just revealed the most powerful car ever produced by the company. Aptly named the Continental GT Speed, the new car boasts 600bhp and can reach a top speed of 202mph.

Inspired by Bentley's 'Speed' models of the 1920s, the new model features numerous tweaks to the GT's V12 power source and some design revisions all its own. "Our objective was to convey the performance potential of the new GT Speed model, while retaining all the design cues so valued by our customers," said Dirk van Braeckel, Director of Design.

The Speed variant of the Continental GT is distinguished by a more vertical dark-tinted chrome matrix front grille with a pronounced square edge. Beneath the grille, the lower bumper design is entirely new and features a wider central air intake that emphazises the sporting stance of the new car. Chromed bezels around the headlamps complement the new frontal design. The new model continues to emphasize its added power at the rear, with a black lower bumper valance and wider, rifled exhaust outlets. New multi-spoke 20-inch sports alloy wheels also fill out the wheelwells and complete the exterior transformation.

The GT Speed's cabin is based on that of the Mulliner Driving Specification and includes a choice of three wood veneers, diamond-quilted hide seats with embroidered Bentley emblems, indented hide headlining, a sports alloy gearlever, three-spoke multi-function sports steering wheel, drilled alloy pedals and 'Speed' logos on the treadplates.

Lincoln MKS

Lincoln has released images of its new full-size MKS luxury sedan, expected to be launched at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Based on Ford's D3 platform - which also underpins the Volvo S80 and XC 90, Mercury Montego and Ford Taurus - the MKS will replace the LS in Lincoln's lineup.

The design was clearly devised before Peter Horbury redefined the Lincoln brand's styling cues, exemplified by the MKR concept shown in Detroit in January this year. The MKS does without the twin-port bow-wave grille or the thin horizontal taillight strip, while the A-pillars are too massive to give any impression of a cantilever roof. Because of its transverse engine and FWD/AWD architecture the MKS doesn't have the dramatic proportions that Lincoln is aiming for with its future products.

Inside, the MKS employs light hues and a form language that draws on modernistic American furniture form the Fifties and Sixties, as seen on other Lincolns. The new car is expected to reach dealerships next February as a 2009 model.

Infiniti G37 Coupe

The New York Auto show, rapidly gaining respect from automotive manufacturers around the world, will be the stage for the release of the all-new 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe, the second generation of the G-series coupe.

The overall styling of the G37 faithfully follows Infiniti's 'Vibrant Expression' design identity, shown first by the G sedan. It combines strong, robust lines with flowing, rich surface volumes which resembles a well-built, muscular athlete.

The G37 is rumored to be fitted with a 3.7-litre V6 with Variable Valve Event and Lift, capable of producing 330 horsepower, on a platform featuring 4-Wheel Active Steering System (4WAS).

Other notable technological features of the G37 will include a touch-screen navigation system and a 9 gigabyte Music Box hard drive, RearView Monitor and an 11-speaker Infiniti 'Studio on Wheels by Bose' audio system with 24-bit Burr Brown DAC and 3-way door speaker arrays.

Looking to compete against the likes of the BMW 335i coupe, the New G37 will be on sale in North American showrooms at the beginning of August 2007.

Lincoln MKR concept

To establish a clear differentiation with Ford and Mercury products, but also to stay alive as a luxury brand, Lincoln was in need of a new and bold design direction. The MKR concept is more than just eye candy for the Lincoln booth at the Detroit show: it's the synthesis on four wheels of a global reflection to define Lincoln characteristics and to create a family resemblance among the brand's future vehicles.

Hence the MKR has a bow-wave, double-wing grille opening, and a horizontal taillight bar. It also bears uncluttered bodyside surfaces bound by a chamfered surface running parallel to the dynamic beltline and a significant C-pillar smoothly transitioning into the cantilevered roof.

Chrome-free leather and renewable materials such as reengineered oak, soy seat foam and mohair carpet are used in the MKR concept's interior. The car is powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with direct injection that runs on E85 ethanol and that is encased in what seems to be an Art Deco engine bay.

Skoda Fabia

Succeeding the first Fabia that helped revive the Czech brand with 1.5million sales comes its second iteration. Blending the original car with the more recent Roomster, the new Fabia sports two-box packaging with a wrap-around glass graphic. And though the car has grown, it still slips in under 4 meters.

Rear knee and headroom remain especially generous, while passengers there also benefit from head airbags. Other technology includes Bluetooth connectivity, six-speed Tiptronic transmission and the de rigueur iPod plug. Under the hood, one can opt from seven engines, four gas (60PS -105PS) and three diesel (70PS - 105PS). The world launch of the Fabia will take place in Geneva next year. Key dimensions are: length 3992mm, width 1642mm, height 1498mm. Trunk volume is 300 liters rising to 1163 liters seats folded.

Saturn Astra

After years of struggling for a complete lineup and a clear focus, GM's Saturn division is solving its problems by repositioning itself and by becoming the North-American outlet for Opel products. Late in 2007 the Astra compact will be available in the Saturn dealerships in the United States and Canada with a mild adaptation of its original front end. For the rest, the 2008 Saturn Astra is nearly identical to the 2007.5 Opel Astra, sold in Europe.

The Saturn Astra that replaces the Ion will be sold in three-door and five-door configurations. The Ion was available as a 4-door sedan or as a two-door coupe with suicide half-doors. Curiously, this happens just when Ford announces that the Saturn Astra's most direct rival, the N-A version Focus, will abandon its three and five-door models in favor of more conventional three box shape. The Astra will be unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2007.

Landwind Fashion

Chinese manufacturer Landwind are entering the heated midi-MPV market with the Fashion, which is available with either five or seven seats. This pitches it directly against the Renault Megane Scenic and the Opel Zafira, which in particular is enjoying buoyant sales. The Fashion will hope its low starting price of about US$16,000 will help it steal some of those customers, though taller ones may be put of by a tail-gate that only opens to face height. The Landwind Fashion adopts a suitably European aesthetic (it was designed by IDEA in Italy), albeit with a rather dated interior.

Powering the Fashion is a 1.6-liter or a 2.0-liter putting out 96PS and 140PS respectively. Key dimensions are: length 4410mm, width 1768mm, height 1640mm.

Dacia Logan MCV

The Dacia Logan MCV was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show as an extension to the low-budget Renault-owned brand currently sold in Eastern Europe and emerging markets. Given the less-than-favorable road conditions of many of such countries, Dacia has concentrated on earning a reputation for simplicity and reliability thus informing a reductionist design philosophy.

Compared with the sedan, the MCV targets a broader audience and suspension travel has been increased 20mm to deal with even rougher roads. The thoughtful design includes thicker protective moldings, a one-piece dashboard, and exposed metal on the doors to reduce cost. Externally the reclined D-post reminds of the Series 1 Renault Laguna wagon, while the rest of the car adopts a conventional two-box profile despite its seven seats and 2350-liter trunk capacity. Engine options for the Dacia Logan MCV vary from 75PS to 105PS.

Dodge Avenger concept

Dodge has unveiled their competitor in the European D-segment, the Avenger. Shown here as a production preview, the Avenger is sister car to the Chrysler Sebring launched at the British Motor Show, both sharing the same platform. The two cars will join Chevrolet in bringing brand America to Europe.

As Dodge demonstrated with the Hornet concept in Geneva, the Avenger concept brings a new aesthetic to European consumers, deliberately mixing muscle car cues. Bowing to local tastes, the concept, which will be shown next week in Paris, features a 2-liter turbodiesel engine - though the chrome-tipped pipes still face rear - not downwards. Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President Design, Chrysler Group said that the Avenger "does for the global D-segment what Caliber has done in the global C-segment - it offers a unique alternative to the competition."

Lada Priora Coupe

Launched at the Moscow motor show earlier this week is the new Lada Priora Coupe. Based closely on the lower medium Priora sedan platform, the Coupe has no carry over exterior elements except for its headlamps. Core features are a full depth grille graphic, contemporary prominent wheel arches that blend into a raised lower side surface and circular interior air vents denoting the car's sporting orientation.

With dimensions of 4250mm long, 1696mm wide and 1430mm high, and a new found level of manufacturing quality, this Russian designed and manufactured Lada will go head to head with Hyundai Accent Coupe.

Lancia Delta HPE concept

Lancia has released pictures of the Delta High Performance Estate (HPE) that has just been unveiled at the 63rd Venice International Film Festival. Conceptually akin to the Beta HPE from the Seventies, the Delta HPE is a shooting-brake, ambiguously described by Lancia as a 'practical saloon'. Accordingly, a wheelbase of 2700mm should ensure a spacious interior.

Resurrecting the Delta name last used in 1994, the show car draws from the 2003 Granturismo Stilnovo concept at the rear, while the front reinterprets classic Lancia grilles from the Fifties. Chrome detailing continues inside, and particular attention has been paid to rear passengers, their seats reclining to mimic aeroplane accommodation. When it reaches production next year, the Lancia Delta HPE will be powered by a range of petrol and diesel engines, all turbocharged, with outputs ranging from 120 to 200PS. No doubt Lancia will be hoping to repeat the success of the original Delta; it was Car of the Year in 1980. Key dimensions of the Lancia Delta HPE concept are: length 4.5m, width 1.8m, height 1.5m.

Nissan Qashqai

Nissan has unveiled their entry into the competitive small SUV market, the Qashqai. First seen in 2003 as a show car, the production version bears the same name in Europe and will rival the recently revealed Honda CR-V and Land Rover Freelander 2. Competing in the C-segment, they all offer an alternative to typical hatchback buyers, aiming to follow the pattern set by the Nissan X-Trail SUV, which outsells the Primera in the European D-segment. Like the Opel Antara, styling is divided into dynamic body and rugged base, the belt-line also resembling the larger Nissan Murano.

Two diesel and two petrol engines will be offered, ranging from the 106PS of the 1.5l diesel to a 2.0l petrol producing 140PS. Sales are expected to reach 100,000 units across Europe -with 80% going to first-time Nissan buyers. Key dimensions of the Nissan Qashqai (Dualis in Japan) are: length 4.31m, width 1.78m, height 1.61m.
